Fascinating interview of Dan Rockwell. I’ve been reading his blog for over a year now, yet this is only the 2nd time I’ve heard his voice! I said it before and I’ll say it again now, it’s nice being able to add the voice to the picture and words on the screen.

What I loved most about Dan’s interview is that it basically covered Dan’s personal leadership experience throughout his own life. By personalizing and highlighting some of his own experiences, including disappointments, frustrations, and personal fears in addition to the bright side of leadership, it gives us a more accurate sense that leaders and leadership is a very human experience. It’s a journey of learning, exploration, and discovery.

In some parts I found myself laughing because even though I was listening to a man’s voice, it was like I was hearing myself at times! 🙂

And Duncan, you did a fabulous job as well. There were a couple of points that you shared that stood out for me as I listened:

1. You can’t build a house with a hammer. (LOVED this!)

2. Plan, Do, Study, Act –> Test on a small scale.

And for the piece de resistance, I loved what Dan said at the end.

Trust yourself.

Glad I listened today.

Thanks for sharing.

Sincerely,
Samantha Hall
