7 Strategies To Keep Your Morale High In Tough Times

When times are tough it can be really easy for morale to plummet and feel de-motivated.  While we all have times when we are not firing on all cylinders, allowing this to be the norm for longer periods of time will directly impact on the results you deliver.

So how can you keep your morale high in challenging times?  Here are my top 7 strategies.

Keep in mind that you can see challenging times as an opportunity or a threat.  If you see it as an opportunity then it is going to impact on how you respond and your results.

Focus time and energy on delivering results to your usual high standards rather than getting caught up on negativity.

Don’t lose sight of the long term when you are facing some short term challenges.

Seek out more feedback from your boss on things that you are doing well personally and as a team.

Try to maintain a good balance between what you do inside and outside of your work or business.

Try to keep everything in perspective.  The fact is things tend to go in cycles. Often opportunities can come along when you least expect them or from sources you do not expect them to come from.

Spend more time reading about or listening to successes that were achieved against the odds or when the chips were really down.

The Bottom Line: Maintaining high levels of morale is sometimes difficult and at the same time it is key to keep moving forward despite the obstacles.
